Mr. Mahoney is a shareholder of Gessner, Snee, Mahoney & Lutche, P.A. During law school, Mr. Mahoney was a judicial clerk for the Honorable William R. Buchanan, Sr. in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County. Mr. Mahoney has concentrated his practice in general litigation since 1987. He represents clients in contract disputes, construction matters, commercial landlord/tenant, real estate, personal injury and criminal litigation. Mr. Mahoney’s practice also involves considerable emphasis on zoning and land use law. An adoptive parent himself, Mr. Mahoney has represented many clients in adoption proceedings. Additionally, he represented the Superintendent of Schools for Harford County for 10 years in student disciplinary matters. Mr. Mahoney also devotes a substantial amount of his practice to representation of homeowner’s associations, condominium associations and property management companies. He also is a certified civil mediator who handles a variety of alternative dispute resolution proceedings both as a client advocate as well as a neutral arbitrator or mediator.
Mr. Mahoney is active in many civic and community activities. He has previously served as a board member on the Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation, the Albert P. Close Foundation, the Harford Cable Network Advisory Board, the Harford County Bar Foundation, the Town of Bel Air Economic Development Commission, Steppingstone Museum, the Harford County Public School’s Drug Abuse Prevention Citizens Advisory Board and the Town of Bel Air Christmas Parade Committee. Mr. Mahoney also serves as a youth lacrosse coach and as a Maryland Swimming official. Mr. Mahoney is a graduate of Joppatowne High School. He resides in Bel Air with his wife, Nancy, and their three children, Maura, Cara and Brendan.
